Production - analytical group: analytical works for provision of scientific researches.

The research vessel «Talan» (displacement - 267 tons). The vessel is used for specific studies conducted on Lake Ladoga. A vessel is equipped with laboratories and instruments for researches of various hydrophysical, hydrochemical and hydrobiological parameters at stations and in a mode of towage.

The research Limnological Station at Lake Krasnoe (Karelian Isthmus) is organized in 1949. This station is used for carrying out of experimental and regional expedition researches. Lake Krasnoe is one of few objects in our Country, where since 1964 were carried out regular complex of limnological researches and experimental works for studying of intrareservoirs processes, and also energy- mass exchange in system
«watershed - lake».

The employees of IL RAS created on Limnological stations a laboratory measuring complex for research of processes thermo-mass transfer in the boundary layers and a hydrodynamical laboratory complex for research of processes of turbulent involving in lakes «Aerohydrocanal».

The results of laboratory experiments received with the help of these complex have underlain of two doctor's and several candidate's dissertations, and also of some scientific articles published in national and foreign editions. With the help of automatic thermo-optic monitoring stations (ATOMS) on Lake Krasnoe, natural experiment on studying of interconnected processes of heat and dissolved substances transfer through border «water – bottom» was carried out.

The Scientific Library is a Sector of Library of Russian Academy of sciences (LRAS). The pool of library contains 68013 units, including: books - 28665 units and periodicals - 39348 units. The fund is completed taking into account the main themes of research works of the Institute and it is an unique assembly of editions on problems of limnology.

The Library of the Institute is completed centralize through departments of national and foreign acquisition. Yet now a receipt of books in Russian reduced on 40 %, the Library practically does not receive foreign monographies.

In the Library there is a book-depository and a room of the loan, where scientists have a chance to familiarize with new periodical receipts and the scientific literature. As the member of a corporate academic network, library has access to E-library that allows enlarging an access to foreign periodical. Moreover, scientists have chance to use the facility of inter-library exchange system. The library is equipped with a computer and the printer, however, for enlargement of possibilities for readers work an additional purchase of computers is necessary.

The members of library council of the Institute take part, as scientific advisers on various specialities, in acquisition of fund at exhibitions of new receipts of LRAS.

Now the library totals 150 readers. Except for employees of the Institute, the library is visited by post-graduate students, competitors, students and employees of the academic and not academic organizations and HIGH SCHOOLS of Saint Petersburg.
